Stars of classical music Sergej Krylov and Rostislav Krimer open the 2nd East-West-Festival.
The 2nd East-West-Festival proudly presents the opening concert of the chamber music series “Great Masters at the Beethoven-Haus Bonn” on October 5, 2024, at 7:00 PM. This exceptional event brings together the world-renowned violinist Sergej Krylov and the outstanding pianist Rostislav Krimer on stage to interpret masterworks by Mozart, Brahms, and Franck.
Sergej Krylov – Violin
Mstislav Rostropovich described Sergej Krylov as “one of the five best violinists in the world.” Krylov is known for his captivating musicianship and impressive stage presence. Over the past decade, he has collaborated with leading conductors such as Vasily Petrenko, Fabio Luisi, and Vladimir Ashkenazy. He has performed with prestigious orchestras, including the London Philharmonic, the Royal Philharmonic, and the Konzerthausorchester Berlin, and has established himself as one of the most renowned violinists globally. Krylov is also the chief conductor of the Lithuanian Chamber Orchestra and has recorded Paganini’s 24 Caprices for Deutsche Grammophon, which have been highly praised by critics worldwide.
Rostislav Krimer – Piano
Paul Badura-Skoda called him “one of the best and most musical pianists of our time.” The German-Belarusian pianist Rostislav Krimer has lived in Bonn for many years and has collaborated with musical greats like Maxim Vengerov, Gidon Kremer, and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. He is known for his remarkable musicianship and technical virtuosity and was recently honored as an Associate by the Royal Academy of Music in London. Krimer is the chief conductor of the Peace Orchestra East-West Chamber Orchestra and has recorded all four chamber symphonies by Weinberg with his orchestra for Naxos, which have been nominated multiple times for the Opus Klassik award.
The program for the evening includes true masterpieces of classical music: sonatas for violin and piano by Mozart, Brahms, and Franck.
